What’s the purpose of check-in and check-out times?

During the process of listing publishing on TripAways, the user is offered to indicate check-in and check-out times for guests, as well as the minimum and maximum duration of stay. In order not to miss them out, we made them obligatory for all the listings in the system.

 

If the tourist knows that they need to arrive only at 8 AM, they will choose the overnight flight that arrives in the morning. You will be able to give the keys to work, without being distracted during the working day.

 

In case if you indicate that the check-in time is 19:00 (after work), your guest will be aware of the fact that they won’t be able to use the apartment, thus planning the day before arrival to your place.

 

When these fields were optional, the owners were breaking their schedule, not allowing the guests to plan their trip. Guests were coming to the city, asking about check-in throughout the day, while the owner had to meet them, being distracted from work or other important things. By making these fields obligatory, we managed to avoid such misunderstanding and problems.

 

Don’t think that you will lose customers if you indicate the check-in time. You can always adjust your plans in personal communication with the interested guests, adjusting the time of arrival and departure for them.

 

How to choose check-in and check-out times?

Go to the description of your accommodation, and you will find the information section. You will indicate accommodation type, the size, the maximum number of guests and beds. Look a bit below at ‘Staying’ section:

  • The minimum number of nights
  • The maximum number of nights
  • Check-in time (set the clock)
  • Check-out time (set the clock)
  • Booking cancelation rules (flexible, moderate, strict)

After that, you will be able to choose the location on the map and go to the full description section.

 

Talking about the booking cancelation policy, it’s worth noting that the guest is able to get a refund, and cancel the booking not later than in 24 hours before the planned check-in time. Kindly note that the service fee, the cleaning fee, and taxes are nonrefundable.
