The Royal Botanic Garden in London invites all the guests to the freshly renovated Temperate House – the biggest greenhouse in the world with the rarest plants on the Earth. Temperate House is included into the list of the world heritage objects of UNESCO as a winter garden, where one can find plants, which are not available in the wild nature anymore.
For example, the real lovers of the wild nature can find such plants as South African sago palm which can’t be found in the wild nature for a dozen of years. There’s a male plant in the Temperate House, and the scientists still hope to find a female one in order to restore the species.
Another rare plant is Dombeya Mauritania, which was considered endangered until a couple of plants were found in the highlands of Mauritius. Three bushes were brought to London, and scientists are able to restore the species even if it disappears from the wild nature.
However, the Temperate House is also interesting with its enormous size. The greenhouse is able to cover even the tallest trees in the world after the proper cutting. More than a thousand of guests can comfortably stay in the greenhouse.
The famous Temperate House – the biggest greenhouse in the world, is opened after the $57 renovation and allows enjoying the plants, which can’t be found in the wild nature.
The greenhouse was closed for renovation in 2013. During the five years, workers restored the ventilation system, changed glasses, and enforced the constructions, which were damaged during the fire in 1913 and the hurricane in 1987. The overall price of renovation reached $57 million.
The visit to the greenhouse is a part of a tour to Kew Gardens, that’s why you simply have to look at the rarest species and plants during your trip to the Royal Botanic Gardens.
