In 2018 one of the key events in Melbourne - Melbourne Writers Festival – will offer not only the meetings with the best poets and writers from all over the world but a full set of music performances. The festival will host performances of famous musicians and meetings with the songwriters.
The program of the festival includes the following concerts:
- Steve Kilbey (The Church) – he will sing as his own tracks, as well as the best hits of his 43-year career
- Jimmy Barns with the hits from Musical Memory
- Rock legends of Paul Kelley with his new works
- American singer Neko Case with the “A book that made me a feminist” themed songs
Furthermore, the festival will host several unusual duets: Sarah Blasco and indie-folk musician Ryan Downey, Jen Cloher with Miss Blancs rapper from Brisbane, Kate Soberano with a young soul singer called Kaiit.
More than 12 stars of soul, rock and rap music will perform during the Melbourne Writers Festival in August – September 2018.
Finally, the festival will be joined by American party metal artist, Andrew W.K. famous with his “I get wet” and “She is bеautiful” tracks. Rap star Fabrice Manikariza and legendary Andy Griffiths, who managed to become a DJ, will also join the event.
Keeping in mind that the main part of the festival will be even more intensive and impressive than before, while the audience will be able to participate in the master classes of the famous people (Syrian architect Marwa al-Sabouni, American TV critic Emilie Nussbaum, and a journalist David Newart), the event will become a real celebration for the fans of communication and cultural events.
