How many days are needed for the best vacation possible? The question seems to not imply a one-size-fits-all answer. Some people are ok with a week, others need a month, and some of us are used to working without any breaks at all and are proud of that.
Taking rest after a vacation?
We all have heard of it. If a long-awaited vacation is lasting for way too long, coming back to the everyday life may be problematic. Long lasting trips complicate planning and make it hard to return to the real world and work without stress. Very active and eventful vacations don’t ensure proper refreshment. But just a couple of days are not enough for changing scenery – this way we simply make fun of our body.
What is the right way?
American Journal of Happiness has published research results that say the best possible number of days for a vacation is 8. We need 8 days to take the maximum pleasure from a vacation’s emotional and physical benefits. By the eighth day the happiness level reaches its peak – and at that moment we should come back, without waiting for the vacation fatigue arrival. Eight days are not enough? We are talking not one, but several such breaks annually. This will both allow “restarting” the nervous system, and acclimatizing on return.
