So, it’s obvious that Cyprus won’t be boring this summer. It’s already known that the fourth stage of European Rally Championship will take place in the city of Larnaca in the period from July 15 to July 17, attracting the participants of the second round of the World Racing Championship in the Middle East.
An interesting fact is that this year the competition will take place, not in Nicosia, where it used to happen last years. The decision was made to attract a higher number of tourists spending their time in Larnaca and the southern part of Cyprus in general.
All the famous racers, including Kajetan Kajetanowicz (won three previous championships), Norbert Herczig and Aleksey Lukyanyuk. At the same time, the guests of the event will be able to see the race cars of the participants: Ford Fiesta, Skoda Fabia, Fiat Grande Punto and even BMW E36. The last one didn’t win any championship, but it’s the most popular car among the guests of the event because it offers the highest level of track overcoming, creating incredible maneuvers and looking swift.
Before Cyprus, other stages will take place in Bohemia (Czech Republic) on June 30 – July 1, Hustopeče (Czech Republic) on June 15-16, and Acropolis (Greece) on June 1-3.
One can easily watch the race from any location, which is not prohibited to be used by the organizers due to safety precautions. There will be special places for the viewers at the start and end points of the race, where one needs special tickets to participate. Nevertheless, the most popular way to watch the race is to find a “wild” place in order to get as close as possible to the track.
The organizers are aware of this fact and promise to provide the highest level of safety even in case of a car crash. They will install special dampers in the most dangerous locations, while the guests will be able to watch the race only from specially designated areas. By implementing these measures, the organizers want to transform the event into a big holiday, and an important event for the city.
If you are lucky enough to visit Cyprus in the middle of July, try to go to Larnaca for a day in order to enjoy the high speed and the real passion for powerful and fast cars.
